We’ve been fan of Luke Arnold’s colourful, creative, kick-ass artworks for years. Along the way, he’s worked with some major international brand names like Gorman, Havianas and Google. So we’re pretty excited that he chose Fountain to launch his first digital artworks. Jump in!
LUKEJOHNMATTHEWARNOLD is a name hog and a multi-disciplinary visual artist and illustrator. During Luke’s university days he explored social stereotypes and how words, objects, symbols and colours can be interpreted and challenged, with a strong focus on masculinity and sexuality. During this time he created jewellery, textile sculptures and book art. He continued to study and landed a job running an art department in a community centre. It was in this new 9-5 lifestyle that his object making came to a grinding halt. Unhappy with this newfound creative repression, he started doodling, developing his camp, pop coloured, crude and at times political illustrations. Posting his illustrations on Instagram, Luke found himself immersed in a community of artists, performers and organisations that all shared the same ethos of equality, inclusivity and giving often tough ideas a sunnier visual representation. Luke’s proudest moment so far was lending his artwork to the Australian Marriage Equality campaign, with his fists and rainbows sprinkling local pubs, clubs and streets. This is Luke’s first foray into the brave(ish) new world of digital art and NFT’s, and we’re so honoured he chose to launch with Fountain.
